The wait for The Last of Us Part II will be great. Evan Wells, president of Naughty Dog, said in an interview with Game Informer that we should not expect to see the game’s launch taking place before 2019.
According to Wells, some time ago Naughty Dog returned to work with only one team - previously there were two teams working simultaneously - and currently, the overwhelming majority are working on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the next title of their adventure franchise. Meanwhile, a small group, which is 25% the size of the Lost Legacy team, takes care of The Last of Us Part II.
As a result, the new The Last of Us has not gone into full development and is in the pre-production phase. So, then, we will not see the sequel to the Naughty Dog classic in 2017 or 2018.
The Last of Us Part II was announced on PSX 2016. The game, exclusive to PlayStation 4, shows Ellie and Joel five years after the events of the first The Last of Us. In it, the girl, now 19, leaves in revenge against A group of people who did something to make her furious. There is no launch day yet.
Neil Druckmann is the director of the game and cortlisting alongside Halley Gross (Westworld). In a panel of PlayStation Experience, Druckmann released the first details of the new game’s history.
I WAS WRONG. I WAS THE WRONG KIND OF WRONG. THE WORSE KIND OF WRONG.
